Dear comrades, dear friends
Locating U.S. military bases in Poland (Rocket Base) and The Czech Republic (Radar
Station) remains an important goal of the American foreign policy. For both the Polish and
Czech governments the matter is not whether the bases should be built but what is the
bargaining price. This is happening with now regard to public opinion, as both Polish and
Czech citizens are mostly against these plans. Mobilising a strong social movement against
the instalment of U.S. military bases is now one the most important matters concerning the
Polish Left.

Young Socialist have been for over a year now campaigning against building U.S. military
installations in Poland. Elements of this campaign were seminars, lectures, press
conferences, manifestations and gathering signatures on a petition to Polish authorities
against American bases. Now that the planed location of the U.S. rocket base in Poland is
known (Redzikowo near the city of Słupsk) it is, in our opinion, the time to organise a
series of events in that particular region. These would include a manifestation, meeting with
locals and organising a conference about the threats connected with American military
bases, militarism in general and what course of action should the Left take in regard to these
matters. We would like to invite you to take part in this new faze of The Young Socialists
campaign against building U.S. military bases in Poland that will take place at the end of
March this year.
