Even better is Promoman firm in Warsaw which has signed an exclusive agreement with the government of Bangladesh. Promoman has been boasting in the media about how their workers are much cheaper than Chinese. They claim that workers make only from 20-50 dollars a month in Bangladesh so here in Poland they should cost only about 1200-1300 zloties (around 600 -650 USD). This needs to be investigated. In the Gdansk shipyards, North Korean workers on government contracts were working for only a few dollars a month - literally. Their pay checks went to the government who acted as the labour contractor and paid them a very tiny sum. The shipyard claimed they were paying at least the minimum wage but if the workers didn't get this, it wasn't their fault. The same is likely to be here: the minimum wage is just below 1200 zloties a month, so maybe the companies will claim that they paid the minimum and they know nothing about any abuse.

The government is likely to turn a blind eye on this whole thing as they want to build football stadiums for Euro2012 as cheaply as possible. They even want to use prison labour for this purpose.
