On April 28-29 in Warsaw, a conference on Workers' Resistance in the New Milennium took place in Warsaw. The conference unfortunately did not draw many people from outside of the anarchist movement, which meant that the format changed from presentation to debate and more concrete discussion very quickly and soon turned rather into a strategy and networking meeting.

There were some interesting moments and tactical discussions about the possibility of organizing internationally in multinational companies, about how one can react when organizing in a workplace dominated by larger unions and what can be done when you have a smallish organizaion. Participants, who came from organizations such as the Union of Syndicalists of Poland, the Anarchist Federation, the IWA, the International Communist Left, CK-LA and Workers Initiative, discussed some of their personal experiences.

As one who might know the above-mentioned organizations might guess, there were some differences of ideas as well, some of which were discussed into the very late hours of the evening. Some of these issues resurfaced after the conference with the arrival of several members of platformist WSM on May Day.

Rather concretely, there seemed to be some common ground for cooperation between comrades from Slovakia and Poland in both the IT and the automobile industries. Some projects were preliminarily discussed and hopefully people will be able to meet up in the summer to draw up a fall plan of action.
