New building occcupied for social centre
Crew fighting for autonomous social centre in Helsinki has taken next step in the struggle and occupied new building 11.1.08. New house is
located in Saarenkatu 17 Helsinki. According to our sources the building is owned by the city and in good condition. During our negotiations for
E15 city officials said they respect our need for such place, but E15 is in too bad condition. Now we can see if promises of the city are worth
something.
This new occupation is part of longer struggle to establish autonomous social centres in Helsinki. It has been obvious this occupation will happen soon since we lost our previous building in December. Then we left "voluntarily", in situation where there was sure eviction coming
around Christmas time, claiming that we will continue squatting. It should be time for the city to realise that they can't get rid of us
with evictions or false promises.
We are really grateful for all solidarity we have received from abroad and wish we can give back even more. Struggle continues, we stand with Köpi, Rigaerstrasse94, ungeren, Rozbrat and all autonomuoos spaces struggling to continue subversion of our lives.
