Occupation of the Ministry of Education

Today Students' Iniative called for a strike. They occupied the Ministry of Education and demanded to meet with the Minister, who they want to resign.

The Minister called a press conference for this time but didn't show up and ran out the back exit instead. Later he said that there was no reason to talk to the students because they were demanding the legalization of narcotics in schools. (Not true.) (Click czytaj dalej)

Giertych is becoming more and more absurd. Some weeks ago he was claiming that the students' protests were organized by the SLD (left, former ruling party), then by pedophiles.

The students burned an effigy, put up a black flag and some banners. The riot police came and pacified the demo. About 200 people were there, but many of them were at a demo for the first time and rather left quickly when
arrests started.

18 people were arrested. More than 50 people went to the police station and made an action. Most have already been released to their parents.

Solidarity actions happened in other cities and other student actions are planned in other cities next week, for example a radical happening in Wroclaw against fascistic ideology and indoctrination in schools.
