Last Hearing in the Trial of Adam Pazuryna
Oct. 28 the last witnessed were heard in the case of Adam Pazuryna. Adam, a member of the Anarchist Federation (FA Praga) was arrested on bogus charges May 16, 2005. Protestors had just finished a demonstration during the Council of Europe Summit in Warsaw and were about to just go home when the police surrounded the demonstrators. When arrests started, Adam noticed the police dragging off one of his comrades and started in her direction. He was then arrested himself.
At the police station he was beaten, with his head slammed against a chair. On Sept. 30, 2005, a court decided that he was arrested without due cause, but that means nothing in this crazy legal system. Such a ruling does not automatically get the case dismissed. After a couple of years, Adam went to work abroad and was arrested as a fugitive upon his return. He spent some time in jail as a result.
The verdict in the case will be given on November 3.
