Save the Beagles Campaign

Despite nationwide public opposition, Valley Animal Research Centre is still using beagle dogs in experiments. However, these cruel and unacceptable experiments can be stopped; the animals just need you to continue to act as their voice! Triko Security are currently providing VARC with security services at the Hawkes Bay breeding site and the Palmerston North testing lab.

TODAY please call and/or email Triko Security and ask that they withdraw their support and protection of this cruel company!

SAMPLE LETTER:

Dear Triko Security,

It has come to my attention that your company provides security for Valley Animal Research Centre (VARC). Valley Animal Research Centre is a contract animal testing company that keeps over two hundred beagles for use in experiments. VARC is the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere to use beagles for research. Beagle dogs are the "species of choice" for animal experiments as they are small, friendly, and co-operative.
VARC also uses other companion animals such as cats, rabbits and horses in its experiments.
A total of 318,489 animals were used for animal research (vivisection) in New Zealand in 2007. The most recent national figures available reveal 757 cats and 682 dogs were used that year. The use of cats and dogs for research in New Zealand has doubled since 2001. Most laboratory animals will suffer, many will die. None will be loved or treated like our companion animals at home.
You have an important decision to make and I urge that you do not side with Valley Animal Research Centre; please turn your back on the abuse by no longer supporting this cruel company.

Thank you for your time.
Yours faithfully,
***YOUR NAME***
